That’s what happened with us when we started to show the Joyner Bolt to architects and builders. Without exception, they all thought that it was such an obvious solution that you must be able to buy it. They couldn’t have been more wrong – not only was it not available but the traditional alternatives hadn’t being doing the job properly for over a hundred years until we came along.

As a chartered surveyor, one day I took my frustration out on a guy called Mark who told me it was impossible to get a quality joint with a coach bolt and that somebody needed to invent something that actually worked. So we did! But we didn’t realise at the time that it would take five years and a lot of research to design and produce the ultimate product that satisfied both Mark from a user point of view, and me from a specifier/quality angle.
